Mayor Tom McNamara joins Steve Summers on This Week in the Stateline to talk about the next 13th Ward alderman, upcoming 815 Day celebrations, the next step in the proposal to redevelop Barber-Colman, the start of construction to bring fiber optic cable across Rockford, and other happenings from the past week in Rockford.

 

    It's an annual holiday tradition - the Teddy Bear Toss at a Rockford IceHogs hockey game. Then again, nothing is traditional about 2020.  This year, you'll drive your car through the BMO Harris Bank Center to toss your teddy - or make a clothing donation. IceHogs Director of Business Operations Mike Peck shares information on the event this Saturday (12/19) from 9am - noon. All donated items will be shared with Miss Carly's in Rockford.

    Renee Henert of the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County joins Steve Summers on This Week in the Stateline to talk about some of the best places to see the fall foliage in the region.

    There are 44 forest preserves in Winnebago County covering more than 11,000 acres.

    "It's just worth getting out, even if it's a short 10-minute walk or you do the whole trail," Henert said. "It's always just a good thing to be out in nature."
