Happy Caturday! Your resident cat lady back again with some cat antics. Is it just me or do you feel like your cat sleeps even more so in the winter than normal? You are actually right, they do!
Experts say that cats also undergo some seasonal changes in winter. Some of the reasons include:
- Temperature regulation.
- Extra warmth in the home like heat or a fireplace.
- Hunting instincts.
- A natural instinct for hibernation.
- Reduced daylight hours.
- Decreased activity levels.
So if you see your cat snoozing a little extra, just let them enjoy it. They need it to keep their systems in tact. Now the hard part is to NOT join them and nap/sleep as much as them!! If you throw in a few extra cat naps though, I won’t judge you. Enjoy some photos of my girls snoozing away. This is a typical view at my house.
