Happy Caturday! Your resident cat lady is back with more tales of cat life. If you own a cat you know that face they usually have right? It’s very particular. I’d say it’s a mixture between judging and a side eye am I right? It’s pretty much their usual look. I recently read an article that talked about how cats have around 270+ facial expressions and I was shocked because I feel like I mainly see THAT one! Realistically, I know they have more than one but, that’s was a higher number than anticipated.

So after reading this article, I’ve been observing my cats this week to see if they exude any other kind of faces. My one cat, Stella, she just has constant attitude. I call her my “Regina George” kitty. She’s beautiful but mean. Bella is my sweet cat. She’s very affectionate and she loves to cuddle with me. She also has a bit of attitude to her but I’ve noticed a lot more expressions with her. You can pretty much tell her demeanor by her facial expressions, which is awesome. Lola is my older cat. She kind of has a “i just don’t care” catitude! One thing I noticed about her is that when she’s sleeping, comfortable, or sitting with me, she smiles. It legit looks like a giant smile on her face and it’s confirmed when she purrs. It’s the most precious thing. The other common facial expression I see amongst all three of them is that mischievous look. Where you know they are about to cause trouble. That’s a common one around here, too.

So, if you have a cat, I encourage you to observe their facial expressions. It’s been really fun to see if I can pinpoint their moods. They truly have their own personalities and it’s so fun to discover them. I’ve included a picture of Stella and her judging side eye for you.
