I love scary movies. I always have – but when I went to film school, I found a brand new love for them. It is such a fun genre that is surrounded by a lot of darkness and gore. That, paired with the fact that I love this time of year, I really get into it.
I always have my classic horror films I go to as we get closer to Halloween itself. As we lead up to the day, I like to try new things I haven’t seen before or that are just coming out. The scary series included; No One Will Save you, Talk To Me and now Barbarian.
I had a great experience watching Barbarian for a couple reasons. First, I really enjoyed the cast. One of my favorites in this genre is Justin Long. Not only does he make a great appearance, I think he steals the show. Second, I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t know who was in it, I didn’t know what it was about, so everything was a surprise.
Here’s a quick synopsis of the film:
A young woman discovers the rental home she booked is already occupied by a stranger. Against her better judgment, she decides to spend the night but soon discovers there’s a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.
It is a very fun movie. Definitely skews more toward the adult eyes. Unless you are one of the “cool parents” that allows that sort of thing. I won’t tell…
