    ROCKFORD — Carpenter’s Place is a nonprofit that focuses on giving homeless people in the Rockford area the tools to rebuild their lives.

    It runs several programs intended to give homeless men and women a path to success.

    Carpenter’s Place also operates a day room with an open-door policy to help any homeless person. At the day room, up to 100 guests can have breakfast or lunch, a shower, change of clothing, make telephone calls, use message services and meet and socialize in a large gathering area.

    Carpenter’s Place also offers a family services program, case management program, educational support, employment training and a housing program.
