The River District Association and I Bike Rockford bring you the next shopping event of the summer Shop the Blocks series. Bike the Blocks will be up and down State Street in beautiful downtown Rockford. The street will be open to bikes and pedestrians only. It will be closed to vehicle traffic from Wyman to 3rd Street. Bring the family, bring your bikes! If you don’t have one, LimeBikes will be available for rent. There will be an expo along the State Street course featuring cycling and healthy food vendors. Downtown business owners will also be having special deals for those who stop in.

Cyclists can beat the heat at watering stations sponsored by Capital House Restaurant and District Bar & Grill. SwedishAmerican will have a bike rodeo for riders big and small to check out the latest in safety gear. Rocktown Adventures,  313 N. Madison Street, will host a mini cyclocross on its property, which is located in close proximity to the event on State Street. Musical entertainment will be provided by Judi Diamond from B103 Midwest Family Broadcasting, who will broadcasting from the event.

Downtown retailers participating in Shop the Blocks have been provided specially made shopping bags from Rockford Art Deli to promote their specials. Those bags will be given to customers who come and shop on a Shop the Blocks Saturday.
