ROCKFORD — Tropical Smoothie Cafe has opened its first restaurant in the city, and it’s slated to celebrate its grand opening this weekend.
The national chain specializes in made-to-order smoothies, fresh sandwiches, paninis, flatbreads and wraps. It also has healthy sides such as its kale apple slaw, which is made in-house.
Its restaurant at 1998 McFarland Road, suite 113, which is along Perryville Road, opened last week. It celebrates its grand opening starting Friday with various specials and prizes, including free smoothies for a year to the first 50 guests Friday.
