Hurricane Harbor Rockford opens for the season on Saturday, May 27.

Hurricane Harbor is the former Magic Waters, a 43-acre water park that opened in 1984 and was owned and operated by the Rockford Park District from 1988 to 2018. That’s when Six Flags signed a 10-year lease to run the park.

Hurricane Harbor features an array of tube and body slides, a 1,200-foot lazy river, a large children’s play area and Tsunami Bay, which is Illinois’ largest wave pool.
