    Business: Lisa Frost Studio

    Owner: Lisa Frost

    Location: 3423 Burlwood Drive, Rockford

Lisa Frost is an virtuoso artist, designer, muralist, and art teacher. She’s been creating colorful artwork here in the Stateline for more than half her life. Last summer, on the wall against a grocery store off Main Street in Rockton, she painted a brightly colored sunflower mural. Little did she know the significance that same mural would have a year later.

“I did that, because I knew a lot of people liked to go up there and appreciate the nature of the community,” Frost said in an interview on the B103 Morning Routine. “Now coming full circle on that, that sunflower, and our message for peace in Ukraine, it’s really kind of a divine, beautiful statement.”

Frost said her advice to any women who wants to start her own business is to work hard, reach out, be innovative, but also really believe in yourself.

“I’m so thankful for this community, that they got behind me. I felt the support and the love, and it’s been fueling me all these years.”
