The school year is definitely different but fire officials in Janesville want to make sure kids are still remembering safety protocols such as “Stop, Drop, and Roll!”

On Sunday, September 27th, Janesville Fire hosted ‘Chalk the Walk’ in efforts to teach kids about the dangers of fire and safety inviting them to decorate the sidewalk.

Janesville Fire Marshal Sue North says, “With COVID and the way schools have been reopening, closing, social distancing, we also decided to respect that the school district is doing trying to keep everyone socially distanced so we made the determination not to go into the classrooms this year and we were looking for alternative events.”

Janesville Fire says they will pick 10 photos of all the artwork that was created and showplace them to the public on a billboard.
